Nintendo has ramped up its efforts against Switch emulation, recently issuing a DMCA takedown notice targeting at least 13 different Switch emulators, including popular names like Yuzu and Ryujinx. This move follows a massive takedown in May 2024, where over 8,500 Yuzu-related repositories were removed from GitHub. The company argues that these emulators unlawfully circumvent its technological protections, allowing unauthorized access to copyrighted games. Despite the crackdown, some emulators are pushing back.
